In doubt again: Katie Waissel's X Factor future is being deliberated by show bosses after her old recording company released a track featuring her vocals
The drama just won't stop for X Factor diva Katie Waissel.
After holding on to her place in the competition last night, at the expense of crowd favourite Aiden, the singer woke up this morning to find herself at the centre of yet another scandal.
Her old record company in the US released a song featuring her vocals last week, despite show bosses shelling out thousands of pounds to extract her from her contract so she could take part in the series.
Yet again, Miss Waissel's place in the competition has been thrown into doubt as X Factor bosses scramble to work out if she is breaking any rules.
An X Factor spokesperson told the Mail Online today that they were 'looking into' whether the track had any bearing on the 24-year-old's place in the competition.
According to show rules, no contestant may have a current recording contract, but the track was pre-recorded before she was released from the contract with Chamberlain Records.
Katie recorded the duet, Moving Mountains, with US artist David Reed for his album The Private Life of David Reed.

News of the release has prompted newspaper reports that Katie is set to return to Los Angeles after the competition finishes to continue performing under her jazz singer alter ego Lola Fontaine.
The Sun claims that instead of participating in the X Factor tour with the other finalists, the Hertfordshire receptionist plans to escape her unpopularity here in the UK to make a fresh start in America.
But Katie was quick to dismiss those reports. She wrote this morning on her Twitter page: 'I have to laugh, apparently now I'm 'fleeing' to the US! C'mon give us a break!! Stop writing all this nonsense!! It hurts!!'
The finalists are obliged to take part in the X Factor tour which begins in 2011.

Katie's position in the series was originally put in doubt back in August when audiences called for her to be axed when it was revealed she had the US contract.
And with a question mark over her head once again, speculation is rife about what would be done should she be kicked off the series.
Producers need to stage a double elimination soon if they are to end up with three contestants in the finale show before Christmas - her axing could take away the need for this.
Another possibility is the return of Aiden Grimshaw, who left the series last night in a shock public voting result.
Aiden today fuelled the rumours that Waissel is just as unpopular in the finalist camp as she is with viewers.

Appearing on This Morning today after his elimination from the X Factor last night, 18-year-old Aiden was non-committal when questioned on his feelings for Katie.
'She's alright,' he said. Adding that her never-ending hug after hearing the results: 'It wasn't the time for a cuddle.'
He also talked about his reaction to getting the boot last night on Daybreak, saying 'I'm ok. I had a bit of a sob with Matt and got over it.'
Asked if he was shocked, he replied: 'You've always got to expect you're going to be in the bottom two and prepare. It is what it is.

On being in the bottom two, he said: 'You just try and sing the best that you can,' adding of his competitor Katie: 'She got more votes, so it was fair dos.'
But he said he felt uncomfortable when Katie got booed: 'It's not nice to watch somebody get booed.'
Bleakley and Chiles then asked him about his comment last night that he had been tipped off by a friend, saying Twitter was reporting he was in the bottom three.
But Aiden said: 'He's one of my friends who likes to throw in the odd corker now and again. It was probably just word on the street.'
In the sing-off, the Blackpool native performed Crowded House's Don't Dream It's Over, while former receptionist Waissel sang Christina Aguilera's Save Me From Myself.
