Mascara tips to get long and full lashes

Hi girls!
I want to share with you today a few tips and my favorite mascaras to achieve full and long lashes!

I personally really like the magnetic look that false lashes give, but hate applying them and being paranoid all night that they detach and look ridiculous! So here are a few tricks I use to avoid falsies and still be satisfied with the look!

Tip 1 Eye lash curler

These look like infernal machines, but make sure our lashes are curved to make our eyes look bigger. For a stronger effect you can heat your curler with a blow drier (not too hot!), it has the same effect of a hot iron on your hair.
After curling, apply immediately a coat of waterproof mascara as these mascaras dry and hold the curl better than normal ones.

Tip 2 Zig zag
Apply the mascara starting from the roots of the lashes and moving the wand in a zig-zag motion to make sure that most of the product is deposited there and at the same time dividing the single lashes to avoid clumps!

Tip 3 Layer mascaras
To achieve the best results, apply more coats of mascara, letting the mascara dry a bit, but not completely, in between. Of course you can apply many coats of your favorite mascara, but the best solution is to layer different ones with different effects. For example, start off with a volumizing mascara  and then add a lengthening one to have full AND long lashes!

My favorite mascaras:
  • Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Waterproof: the mascara I have repurchased the most, my all time favorite
  • Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Flared: amazing volumizing mascara, unfortunately not waterproof
  • L'Oréal Telescopic False Lash Waterproof: new acquisition and already with the favorites, its fiber formula gives amazing length, without flaking! Also available in non-waterproof formula.

I like to layer these three mascaras to obtain fat an long lashes!
One note to the fact that waterproof versions are not the easiest to remove, and take patience and good products. I suggest a good eye makeup remover or an oil-based remover on a cotton pad and let it soak for a minute before swapping off.

What are your favorite mascaras? Any tips you would like to share?
