Since I invested in my Muji storage, I've never really been a makeup bag kind of girl. I store all my daily favourites in my Muji drawers on my dressing table and if I'm going out I'll throw a concealer, a lip product and maybe some powder/blush in my handbag and I'm good to go. Last week though I spotted a stunning black and cream initial makeup bag* on both Kate (gh0stparties) and Suzie's (Hello October) youtube channels and it really caught my eye. So when I was contacted by NotOnTheHighstreet (a website which sells items from creative independent businesses and one of the online stockists of the initial makeup bag) and asked if I would like to try some of their products, I knew straight away what I wanted to try out!
First of all, I have to point out that I ordered this bag at around 1.30pm yesterday afternoon and it arrived with my postman this morning. Now that is incredible customer service. The cute wrapping was also a nice touch. I just love the monochrome, simplistic style of this bag. It's very me. It's also the perfect size to fit in all of my essential products, as well as my favourite Real Techniques brushes - which tends to be where other makeup bags have let me down previously as they are too compact, and tend to squish my lovely brushes! The size of this bag couldn't be more perfect as it's also small enough to carry around in your handbag. The laminated cotton material of the bag means it will be easy to keep clean as makeup just wipes right off. There's also a small but handy inner zip pocket where you could store anything extra special or expensive.
I really couldn't be happier with my new makeup bag, and I think my makeup-carrying habits may be about to change now that I have this beautiful little thing, as I'm currently looking for any excuse to fill it up and take it out to show off.
The Initial Makeup Bag by Alphabet Bags can be purchased for £17 and in any letter A-Z from www.notonthehighstreet.com
